In a breathtaking news update, the Nepal Government has directed for research on one of the news reports posted on Dalai Lama’s stay in an Indian hospital.

However, one of the journalists declared they took this step upon the demand of the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu.
“Under stress from the Chinese Government, Nepal’s Minister of Communication and Information Technology Gokul Baskota has ordered research into this matter and three of our journalists have been questioned,” said Somnath Lamichhane, one of the RSS journalists in front of the probe.
“RSS is a state-run news organization, however, and our research will be guided by Nepal’s association with China, by the One-China policy, and by Nepal’s overseas policy. So we report to higher masters,” says Dilliram Batarai , one of the four members RSS selected to deal the problem.
“It is shocking that the Nepal authorities should object even to reporting on the Dalai Lama’s health, and it reveals how the authorities can force the media to self-censor by caving into Chinese needs,” says South Asia Director for Human Rights Keep an eye on Meenakshi Ganguly.
