Among growing politics in the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) for the organisation’s management post, former presidents of FNCCI have started attempting to guarantee that the power at the organisation is chosen collectively.
By FNCCI the most comprehensive private sector serving Nepal set to endure its yearly general conference and the election for the new managing committee on April 10 and 11, industrialists over the nation have been distributed and are included in politics to get votes in their favour or the support of their nominees.
But, former FNCCI presidents have begun deliberations with potential candidates for various administrative board post of FNCCI in the forthcoming election to guarantee that leadership in the system is elected unanimously.
“Politics within the FNCCI has been on the rise in recent years, especially ahead of elections. If FNCCI undergoes politics at this level, the organisation will lose its legacy,” stated a former FNCCI president.
Former FNCCI presidents, along with Mahesh Lal Shrestha, Pradeep Kumar Shrestha, Rabi Bhakta Shrestha, Padma Jyoti, Kush Kumar Joshi and Suraj Vaidhya, have been pressing for unanimous vote at FNCCI.
Following the prevailing terms in FNCCI ordinance, senior vice-president will automatically become the administrator of the organisation in the next session.
“Though FNCCI should focus on addressing private sector issues in coordination with the government, industrialists today are seen busier in election and other forms of politics. This is not good,” stated another former FNCCI president.
