Rs 1 billion allocated for South Asian Games by government

The Ministry of Youth and Sports on Friday designated a budget of Rs 1.05 billion for the forthcoming South Asian Games (SAG) to be held in Kathmandu and Pokhara in December this year.

NSC, the National Sports Council will get an amount of Rs 550 million for the general administration of the SAG which included 150 million for national team preparations, Rs 380 million for sports equipment purchase, Rs 10 million for ceremony organization and the same amount for the accommodation of the players and delegates for the prestigious games.

Moreover, Rs 400 million has been designated for the improvement of infrastructure for the SAG.
