Recruiting agencies have decided to protest against the government since they are not resuming the work to issue work permits to Malaysia-bound Nepali workers.
Rohan Gurung, president of Nepal Association of Foreign Employment Agencies said that if the government does not issue work permits then they will start the protest activities.
He added that the delayed process is going against the people’s right to work. This will end up affecting people’s livelihood and will also have a huge impact on the Nepali economy.
Since May 2018, the supply of Nepali workers has been halted post the government cracked down on Immigration Security Clearance. The supply of Nepali workers to Malaysia is still not confirmed because of the delay in finalizing the medical-related issues even though the governments had signed a bilateral labor pact in October.
