Pokhara has 206 dengue patients

206 persons at different wards of Pokhara metropolis has been confirmed to be suffering from dengue in the past three weeks. According to Province Health Directorate, Ward No. 8 and 9 are the most affected areas.

However, the government is indifferent towards the treatment and prevention measures. In 2018, dengue was reported in September and the disease was treated in December.

With the rising number of dengue patients, Health Directorate of Gandaki Province had held an interaction among stakeholders.

Lack of diagnostic kits has been reported in Western Regional Hospital under Pokhara Institute of Health Sciences.

Dr. Laxman Bastola has said that the treatment of dengue patients at the hospital has been difficult as they don’t have diagnostic kits. Dr. Gautam said that the directorate will have enough diagnostic kits as the kits were also being brought from Parbat and Syangja districts.
