Nepal Telecommunications Authority during the anniversary function in Kathmandu propels a call test and speed test application for mobile.
The new mobile applications were launched due to the growing consumer complaints about voice call quality and internet speed.
The call test app will assist customers to check call quality, merit the service provider, and raise a complaint if any.
On the other hand, the speed test app will support testing both the internet speed of mobile and broadband services. It will also provide checking of download and upload speed. Get data on the location of the internet connection. Information on slow internet and file a grievance as well.
“We are confident that this app will resolve the issues of quality and speed of the Internet raised by consumers and users could promptly file a complaint to the service provider,” stated the NTA Spokesperson Prasad Aryal.
In Jan, at the global internet speed ranking event, Nepal was ranked 112th in fixed internet speed and 127th in mobile internet speed.
As indicated by the Speedtest Global Index by Ookla, Nepal web speed was recorded at 21.05 Mbps and 12.43 Mbps for cell phones and fixed broadband. As indicated by Aryal, the NTA is wanting to release in a few days, both the applications for iOS and Android platforms.
