The Nepal Government has started the implementation of the dedicated Prime Minister Employment Program (PMEP) in Bhojpur district’s Salpasiichho Rural Municipality.
Based on Salpasiichho Rural Municipality Chair Mahesh Rai, individuals unemployed for over 100 days have been employed into numerous sectors including agriculture, environment, road, and forests.
10 women and 30 men from ward 2 and ward 3 of the municipality were chosen in the program’s first phase. The rural municipality officials declared that the employed persons were assigned cleaning and maintenance of the environment.
Rai declared that the individuals under the program will be employed for 25 days to keep paid NPR 517 daily.
Previously, the government had chosen to roll out the program from Bhaktapur region. A complete of NPR 24 .6 million was allocated to the region for program implementation.
PMEP in Bhaktapur has registered 400 applications from Suryabinayak municipality, 910 from Changunarayan and 76 from Madhyapur Thimi.
Total, the Nepal Government has allocated NPR 5 .1 billion as part of the newly introduced Nepal Federal Budget 2019-20
Hope the new plan will address Nepal’s looming employment crisis.
