Nepal Communist Party attack on Nepali Congress in Kanchanpur

The primary opposition Nepali Congress has protested an assault on its leaders as well as cadres allegedly by the cadres of ruling Nepal Communist Party in Kanchanpur region

NCP cadres assaulted NC’s 20 leaders and cadres who were starting a peaceful protest at Dokebazaar of Punarbas municipality-10 on Tuesday, reads a statement granted on Wednesday by NC Office Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Poudel. NC has required action against those behind the attack and free treatment to the injured ones.

Of the injured–including Gopi Prasad Upadhyay, local president of NC Kanchanpur constituency 1, Bikram Chand, city secretary of Belauri, Mahaadhibeshan agent Harendra Bista, candidate for town chief Toya Prasad Sharma, president of Punarbas municipality-2 Chandra Mani Gaire and Krishna Bahadur Chand of Nepal Tarun Dal, NC’s youth wing—Upadhyay and Chand are becoming treatment at Neuro Hospital in Kathmandu, while others at Zonal Hospital in Kailali, based on the statement.
