On Sunday, Nepal’s national women football team beat the hosts Kyrgystan by a broad margin 8-2 in Najda cup football tournament.
The striker Sabitra Bhandari of Nepal scored four goals, midfielder Anita Basnet secured a brace, skipper Neeru Thapa and Dipa Rai got a goal respectively to ensure a complete victory over the hosts today.
Bhandari broke the tie as early as on the 5th time of the game before scoring a brace on the 15th minute. The hosts decreased the arrears on the 19th minute and dropped out Nepal’s score three minutes later.
Deepa Rai altered Nepal’s lead on the 25th minute before Sabitra Bhandari finished her hat-trick and Nepal’s fourth goal on the half-hour mark.
Nepal’s goal celebration proceeded as Anita Basnet and captain Neeru Thapa marked on the 34th and 37th minute each to present Nepal two-goal cushion on the tired-looking opponents.
Though Nepal performed the best football in the half-half, they could only survive to indent two more goals to their tally.
Sabitra Bhandari secured her fourth and team’s seventh goal in 53rd minute before Anita Basnet secured a magnificent goal in the last minute of the match to cause more damage on the hosts.
Nepal with the hosts Kyrgystan, Uzbekistan and Tajikstan are performing in the tournament. Nepal is steering part in the competition as part of their training for the forthcoming 13th SAG 2019.
