Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, Minister of Foreign Affairs is departing on September 21 for New York. He lead a Nepali mission to the 74th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
On September 24, the General Debate of the UNGA will start below the line ‘Galvanising Multilateral Efforts for Poverty Eradication, Quality Education, Climate Action and Inclusion.’ Minister Gyawlai will speak about the United Nations General Assembly on September 30.
Minister Gyawali on September 26 will head the Friendly Gathering of the SAARC Council of Ministers, as per Ministry of Foreign Affair’s press release.
On Financing for Development Minister Gyawali will join in the Climate Action Summit, United Nations High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, and the United Nations High-level Dialogue.
In New York, Minister Gyawali will direct separate official gatherings of the Non-Aligned Movement, G77 and China, Least Developed Countries, and Land-locked Developing Countries.
He will serve Nepal at the Ministerial Meeting of the Asian Cooperation Dialogue. The foreign minister will also discuss the 10th Ministerial Meeting of the United Nations Group of Friends of Mediation and High-level Dialogue on Peace Operations.
He will engage in the high-level memorial event assembled by the president of the General Assembly to consider the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, said the press release.
Minister Gyawali will visit the meeting to hosted by the US president on September 24 and will connect the State Luncheon hosted by the UN secretary-general the same day.
On the interests of the UNGA, Minister Gyawali will interest in bilateral gatherings with his counterparts from different nations.
Minister Gyawali also programmed to communicate with Nepali Diaspora in New York on the 26th of September, and visit an interactive gathering on brain increase with the Nepali diaspora community on the 29th of September in Chicago.
