Gayanendra Malla scored the fatest T20 International half-century for Nepal as they defeated Malaysia by seven wickets in the ICC T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier.
Malla led the team in the absence of skipper Paras Khadka in a must-win the game by scoring his half-century off just 21 balls at the Singapore India Association ground. The match was reduced to nine overs a side due to rain. Batting first, Malaysia scored 83 for 7.
Nepal chased the total with one over to spare. Nepal now holds the third position and is in the contention for the top spot which will guarantee to participate in the Global Qualifiers which will be held in October and November in the UAE.
