Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA government on Saturday completed its one year in office in its second term in India. On the occasion, the Indian Prime Minister has written a letter addressing the 130 crore people of the country. In the letter, Modi has enlisted the various milestones that his government has achieved in the second term, asserting that from 2014 to 2019, India’s stature has risen significantly.
Highlighting that decision on abrogation of Article 370 has furthered the spirit of national unity and integration, he stated that the historic Ram Mandir judgment brought an amicable end to a debate persisting for centuries in the country. He asserted that the amendment to the Citizenship Act expressed India’s compassion and spirit of inclusiveness. PM Modi expressed confidence in India’s mettle through surgical strike and air strike in the light of Indian Air force February 2019 Balakot airstrike in Pakistan.
Addressing the plight of farmers in India, the Prime Minister maintained that empowering the poor, farmers, and women has been the top priority of his government.
“PM Kisan Samman Nidhi now includes all farmers. In just one year, more than Rupees 72,000 crore has been deposited in the accounts of over 9 crore 50 lakh farmers,” he said in the letter.
Underlining India’s fight against the Coronavirus pandemic, he said that many feared that India will become a problem for the world when the pandemic hit the country. However, through sheer confidence and resilience, Indians transformed the way the world looks at them, he declared.
Calling attention to the sufferings of labourers, migrant workers, artisans & craftsmen in small scale industries, hawkers amid the global health crisis, Modi said that the government is working in a determined way to alleviate their troubles. He affirmed that India will revive from the economic fallout triggered by the pandemic shutdown, reiterating his call to become self-reliant. He went onto speak about the Rs 20 lakh crore package given by his government as part of the Aatmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan. Later, Modi praised the resilience and courage showed by the Indian citizens living in West Bengal and Odisha when the super cyclone Amphan wreaked havoc in the parts of the states.
“Due to the global pandemic this is certainly a time of crisis but for us Indians, this is also a time for a firm resolve,” he added.
In conclusion, the PM Modi declared that Indians will never be dictated by any adversity, urging them to stay safe and aware.
