Eighth-grader Nihar Janga from Texas stunned the earth when he won the 31st Annual National Geographic GeoBee contest on May 22, 2019.
A student from Austin’s Canyon Ridge Center School, Janga was also among the top ten finalists in 2018 GeoBee and champion of the 2016 National Spelling Bee.
The occasion was conducted by the National Geographic Society at its head office in Washington, where it also kept the first-ever GeoChallenge national-level competition.
